A 7′ x 7′ Short Toss
Screen For Safer Batting Practice & Softball BP

A  good quality short toss screen aka softball pitchers screen is standard equipment & not an area where you should try & save money!
Not everyone needs pro equipment but I urge you to match your needs with your budget.
Bump up against your budget is my recommendation. Investing in a reliable mini baseball front toss screen can significantly enhance your practice sessions. It’s designed to withstand the wear and tear of regular use, providing both safety and performance benefits. Remember, quality equipment can ultimately improve your skills and confidence on the field, making it a worthy investment. Additionally, if you are looking for a practical option that combines affordability and functionality, consider an economical 7′ x 7′ pitcher screen. This size is perfect for various practice scenarios, allowing for enhanced visibility and safety for both pitchers and batters. Ultimately, investing in equipment like this ensures you’re better prepared for game situations while also staying within your budget.

If this unique C style short toss screen softball pitchers screen makes sense to you from the picture alone, buy it.
The price to quality is absolutely right and it is recommended for college or high school teams, youth softball or backyard fastpitch training. In addition to its superior design, this screen is compatible with the original pitchers pocket pitching target, making it an ideal choice for honing your skills. Its lightweight construction allows for easy transport and setup, enabling you to practice wherever you choose. Whether you’re preparing for game day or just looking to improve your technique, this screen is a reliable training aid.

Here’s What I Like About This Particular Model

The 7′ wide by 7′ tall size fits most adult coaches or players. The frame is rustproof and plenty tough when taking direct hits so you should count on it to stay on the field for a lot of seasons.

The detachable legs leave just a nub protruding from the main frame, which makes it much easier to store, especially for those of you who store all your screens in parallel. (leg-ends always seem to get caught in the net of the neighboring screen).

The frames have square tube galvanized steel that’s heavy enough without being too heavy for one pitcher/coach to make angle adjustments during BP. This also means less bottom-of-frame-wobble common with most frames (though wheels are still recommended). This should not be such an issue IF players are instructed to not allow the screen to slam when setting up or when transporting from the ballfield!

How About The Wheel Kit?

I have never understood why so many coaches choose not to add wheels to their on-field screens that are used so frequently.
Most screens are bulky in shape & size including this softball pitchers screen. Transport either takes two people or when using one, it gets dragged or dropped.  This can easily loosen the area where the screen bottom meets the leg joint! Even with care, wheels are the best way to ensure that you will get more years out of your purchase and reduce any turf or infield damage.

In Summary

  • It has an adult-size footprint of 7′ x 7′
  • It has a heavy-duty rustproof frame that’s 1 ½” galvanized steel
  • Its net is a slip-on style double strength #42 that’s twisted & knotted… and replaceable
  • It has an optional wheel kit for changing from LH to RH batters & simpler transport
  • It has detachable leg stems for much easier storage

I hope my thoughts will help you to make your best buying decision!
