Common configurations include natural grass outfields with artificial turf infields, or natural base paths with synthetic turf in high-traffic areas. These combinations can provide cost-effective solutions that balance tradition with practicality.

This configuration preserves the traditional sliding and pitching experience while reducing overall maintenance requirements.
