I grew up playing fastpitch softball and found a sport that I have a true passion for. I have stayed involved with the sport for nearly 30 years as either a player, umpire, or coach. I have coached 18u travel ball and varsity high school ball. I have been trained by Kevin Seitzer in hitting fundamentals and Mike Macfarland in the art of catching. There is no off season in softball!

Willie Chaple provided the following info:

I have been giving pitching lessons in both baseball and softball for 20 years . I give them individually or in groups. I normally don’t like to have more than five players at a time, with five I have more time to spend with each individual. Lessons are one hour long.

I also work with players on conditioning, technique and evaluate their skill level. We work on such things as hitting, base running, throwing, etc. etc. These lessons can be done individually or in groups. These lessons are again one hour long.

I also do clinics for recreation programs, I have done week long clinics or I can do one day clinics, it’s hard to learn everything in one day, week long clinics work better.

About myself, I played baseball for fifteen years. In 1974 I had a tryout with The Kansas City Royal, after that I attended Hesston College, in 1975 during fall drills I snapped my achilles tendon in half and my playing days came to an end. I have coached baseball and softball since 1985. My coaching record is 227 wins and 40 losses.

I believe that every player should have the opportunity to better their skills, technique, and have a better knowledge of the game, that is why I charge only $15.00 per hour. I don’t want money to be a factor on whether a player can take lessons to improve in their sport. If you have a player that needs to be motivated then group lessons might be the way to go, if they don’t need motivation then go with individual lessons.
