What JP Says about the Mini Front Toss Soft Toss Screen | Compact 6’W x 4’W Protective Screen W/ Free Padding

Short toss drills, where the ball is pitched or underhand-tossed from distances of 15 ft. or up to 35 ft, are so important and efficient for at least a hundred reasons!

  • "Pitchers" can throw or toss forever without fatigue
  • Accuracy and ball placement is almost 100%
  • Speeds can be easily changed without losing accuracy

All while saving rusty and aging arms!

Hitters of all ages love these drills because they get to track and hit lots of accurate pitches from a "live" pitcher.

Note: To extend the life of your screens, always store your netting and frames indoors during winter and off- seasons. Cold winter winds are actually very abrasive and will shorten the life of your net.

Product Drills

Soft Toss Drills From 15 ft

(1)Set up the net, (2)grab a seat, and (3)toss pitch after pitch using an underhand motion. Tossing the pitches in a under hand motion will most closely resemble the angle of the ball in game situation and will get rid of those "loopy rainbow pitches" that influence poor uppercut swings.

Great for batting cage drills, for a sped up batting practice at the field, or in backyards where you can hit dozens of regulation-size whiffleballs. It's great even for golf ball-size whiffleballs in a small space!

Soft Toss Drills From 30-35 ft

Use it the same way as from shorter distances, except toss overhand while seated. Progressing to this distance, from 15 feet, will add a good degree of difficulty and test your players while allowing them to see, track and hit more pitches in a small area and a short period of time improving these game-type skills much more quickly!

Product Games

When it comes to kids and baseball, FUN IS KING! If they don't have fun doing they won't be interested for long, so it's important to make up games involving development goals.

For instance, you could have two players competing for the best score in a 9 round(inning) slug fest. Each inning concentrate on a particular skill by awarding a point each time the skill is executed correctly. You can start it off easy, like 1 point for hitting a fair ball, and then make it more and more difficult each inning. This same game could also be played by one player, they would only be competing against themselves trying to improve on their last score.

Here's an example of how a game would be scored

Inning #1
+1 point for hitting a fair ball
Inning #2
+1 point for hitting a hard ground ball
Inning #3
+1 point for hitting opposite field
(simulate man on 2nd - moving runner to 3rd)
Inning #4
+1 point for hitting the screen
(practice hitting up the middle)
Inning #5
+1 point for hitting fly ball
(simulate man on 3rd - sacrifice fly - RBI!)
Inning #6
+1 point for a good bunt at a specific target
-1 point if hit to pitcher's area
(possible 10 easy points so most matches are determined here. in the last inning!)
