Clemson University head coach Jack Leggett demonstrates more than 25 drills he uses to develop infielders in his national power NCAA program. The drills focus on three key areas of improvement: the hands, the feet and throwing.
You'll see footwork drills that use ladders & hurdles to provide an excellent way to improve quickness and agility. Drills are also demonstrated to develop hand quickness as well as arm strength and accuracy.
Jack Leggett has led Clemson to five College World Series appearances in his 13 years at the ACC school, while commanding the sixth-winningest program in college baseball during his tenure. In his 27-year coaching career, Leggett has won over 950 games. He started his coaching career as the youngest NCAA head baseball coach in the nation, when at age 23 he began the baseball program at Vermont in 1978. After five years he moved on to Western Carolina before arriving at Clemson in 1992.
Coach Leggett demonstrates the important fundamentals needed to field ground balls along with the drills to teach them. He begins with the stance and the keys to creating the proper body angle. He then teaches how to field balls hit directly at the fielder and then to the glove and backhand side. He also shows two ways to field slow rollers. In addition, Leggett demonstrates common fielding flaws and the measures taken to correct them and he shows viewers a half dozen drills that he uses at Clemson to develop his infielders.

Use What Pro & College Coaches Use
A fungo bat is a long, skinny bat specifically designed to only hit a tossed ball for infield and outfield practice as well as pre-game drills. Most fungo bats are really long - around 36 to 37 inches - and many coaches find them hard to hit with. The Coach's Club is 3-4 inches shorter. Additionally, it weighs less than 20 oz...The bottom line: It's amazingly short, light, and easy to swing!
Teaches the Correct Field & Catch Position
The "Pancake" Glove was designed for the serious infielder who wants to improve his skills in quick transfer and two-handed techniques.
This padded training glove has a right or left-handed 31" circumference pattern with an open back. It will teach infielders to have quick hands and fast glove to hand ball transfer.
