Works On Your Weak Points Just By Swinging!
My favorite baseball training aids are those that do not ask players or coaches to do any more than they are already willing to commit (more commitment comes from heart & drive, not baseball training aids).
You Are Going To Take Thousands Of Practice Swings Anyway
Why not just slip an RBI Pro Swing over your game bat whether swinging in front of a mirror in your room (every player does that on occasion) or when taking swings off a batting tee or soft toss station.
In addition to loosening up with a slightly weighted overloaded training bat, you will actually hear a "swooshing sound" that tells you exactly when the power of your swing gets released... . That's huge, don't you think?
When Do You Want Your Batting Power Released?
How about when the bat crashes into the ball... right at the point of contact!
Yeah buddy, you bet you do and now you can actually train yourself or your players and let your ears prove it! You just cannot cheat physics. Its right or its wrong
(just remember to use something like a wiffle ball or squishy safety ball to prevent ruining your Pro Swing ).
It's Simple & "Proves" Your Good or Bad Swings
When you hear the swooshing sound, it should be just before or at contact... the sooner and the farther back in your stance you hear it, the slower and longer your swing. That's wasted energy and power loss!
Why?
Have you ever heard a coach say something like, "take the knob of the bat to the ball"? What he is trying to say is that if the longer the knob of your bat stays facing the pitcher and incoming ball, the later the bat head will come around to meet the ball. This leads to a faster and more compact swing as the bat travels around the spine... kind of like when a skater spins around in a tight circle so fast by pulling how arms in real close... it's a blur... or how about when you snap a towel.
Ok, not exactly baseball examples... but do you get it?
What This Training Aid Can Mean For You
A quicker bat means more hard hit balls & that you are able to wait and identify the pitch speed and location just a little bit longer!... what's that worth to you? I know that without it, players get eliminated from the game as pitchers get bigger, stronger and better
... and that is a very good baseball-example.
