They start with 100% aerospace-grade graphite.
Then take epoxy glue & lock in these graphite fibers in layers.making one thin walled and very balanced Big Time Baseball Bat!
With a longer barrel & a huge sweetspot.
This combo of lightweight and strength gives you one tough mother of a bat with a super-thin and longer-balanced barrel!
I swung this bat today.first time I hit in a cage in some time. My timing was iffy, my balance was not close and frankly the pitching was lame.a perfect recipe for missing the sweetspot enough to be frustrating and no fun. (No practice.no results, right?)
It was a bit ugly but I have got to tell you that I couldn't seem to miss what may be the largest sweetspot around. This thing was solid from end to end and really stretched the limits of the effective hitting area. It was especially noticeable when I found myself needing to focus on keeping a short stroke..while rapidly tiring.
The best part, of course.was when I did hit the ball right on the screws and imparted that great backspin you get on a hard rising liner (the one you just know would have split those outfielders or cleared the wall. Sweet it was.right down to the loud ping when correctly struck ball meets today's top end bats.
I don't think bats make the player but good equipment certainly does help.and if it lasts as long this model should last, then your ultimate price is certainly reduced.
If you like Louisville Slugger products and really like the idea of a composite bat. You WILL like this Catalyst!
If you are a player & money will prevent you from purchasing this great bat, consider earning the extra cash by shoveling some snow, mowing some lawns and using your old bat a bit longer.before settling for an average bat.it may be that important!
I do have one other very fine alternative that I have found for you to consider...the very balanced Akadema Xtension. My son used it during a slump while trying anything to break out of it. He finished his college season with it and hit over .340 in 30 games. More importantly, he felt its balance gave him the confidence to hit like he should have all long. Was it the bat? Probably not. But did it perform well in NCAA action? Absolutely...and a great price too! [ Go to the Akadema Xtension page ]
Now back to the Catalyst...Mark this down.
You will see a ton of these bats in NCAA D1 College Baseball and in great programs in all the divisions. It should be one of the hottest bats in High School and especially noticeable on travel teams from coast to coast!
Best of Luck!
