Now there’s a loaded question!
Your player(s) need a new bat so of course you ask which one and look to get them what they want. Then you see the prices…and you still try and pull the trigger…After all, it’s for your player, and they have to use it…right?

So the answer is yes…right up until you really think about it…and then I believe the answer should be…maybe!

Here’s my reasoning
1st , know that every major manufacturer of gloves and bats make good, better, their best…and some junk that goes into the Big Box Stores…with some stores even asking you for big bucks for some questionable leather ball gloves or “new” bat technology.

The marketing of so many of these products seems to be based on “the look”.
People (even little people) will buy on emotion…but defend it with logic!

Bat Wars… Bat Technology vs reality
There is no doubt that the bats today are better than the bats of 10 years ago. Rules concerning weight drops, barrel sizes and exit speed velocities were established & mandated around 2003…and most all best choices bump up close to those specifications in both baseball bats and softball bats.

There’s also no doubt that bat technology has certainly replaced some degrees of a successful batters skill level. Even pro scouts at high level showcases of High School players must focus on the kid who can hit the ball on the same part of the bat…consistently as so many of these big, strong kids can hit long balls off the end or handle of these high tech wonders (OK, enough of my ranting about hitters…vs. real hitters – the reality is that we should train with wood bats to train our hitters to learn the strikezone for more hard hit balls…but we should and will continue trying to win with these metal and composite baseball bats as long as the rules allow!)

So, do the major brands have a monopoly on the bats that your team should use?
Absolutely not!

It’s the Money
There is so much money in the manufacture of metal and composite bats (as opposed to the tough economies of scale that it takes to build a quality wood bat – remember with wood you first start by chopping down a tree in the middle of some remote forest while metal bats start from a truck-delivered piece of Alcoa Aluminum or similar…and simply, but skillfully shaped, stamped and painted on some machinery).

Because of these financial forces, some very creative smaller boutique companies have sprung up with some very interesting philosophies on how to build a great bat... and yes, they also have the marketing skills to come up with catchy names and cool graphics too but the point is their business models are different than the Big Boys and certainly include much less overhead…can you say advertising?

How much savings can I expect on a bat that I’ve never seen before? I cannot speak for any other place you can buy baseball equipment.
Our equivalent bats to the current models by the big boys should save you around $50 to $90. and may even last longer than much of the high end stuff I see… which drives your ultimate cost down even further!

Where Do We Come In?
We do not carry all brands of bats…for a reason.
You will see and compare good quality choices and good choices only.
You will see SOME bat models from SOME bat manufacturers advertised for sale at BaseballTips.com and Softball-Tips.com. What we offer are some of what we believe in and feel that we can offer at a price you will like, delivered promptly…and hopefully with low or FREE SHIPPING!

In Summary – We offer you quality choices…and guarantee it!
Are the most expensive big name bats worth their $200 to $400 Price tags?
Yes...because they are all you can legally spec out according to the rules of today’s leagues.
No... there are some great and absolutely equal-quality alternatives if you prefer to keep that extra $100 - $200 in your pocket.

Which is why we offer you choices of the large top flight companies and the best of brands you have no experience with. Quality choices will lead you to what’s best for you and your player(s). The burden is on you, wise reader. Hopefully you will get that what we offer

Our Guarantee! You don’t like the bat you bought from BaseballTips.com or Softball-Tips.com...
you don’t own it... as long as it is in re saleable condition.

You call our toll free number at 1 800 487 7432 and let’s see what our pros can do to make you happy. Ok, we’ll ask you to send it back at your expense (about $5-7). But we will handle this right away (we are also parents and do understand that your player doesn’t yet have his or her new bat)!
