Which BATA Fits You?
Since our customers are all different, our recommendations are not always the same. Since we do this daily, we feel qualified to guide you to the correct "buy button."
To really help your son, team, or league develop to their full batting potential you must do the following:
- Teach the proper swing mechanics. This can be accomplished through instruction (see our FREE instructional articles), lessons and schools, and/or instructional videos.
- Quality repetitions. Doing it over and over. Then swing some more!
We will assume these two items are what brought you to the correct conclusion that owning a pitching machine was the right way to go. First, know that there are no bad mistakes with anything we offer. Know that there are only opportunities to make better decisions by gaining some knowledge right here. Let's simplify this:
Money First
All BATA pitching machines throw real baseballs and machine pitch dimple balls (they are the yellow balls you've seen at the commercial battings cages). Prices range from around $900 to over $1,800. All simply plug in to wall sockets or generators. Automatic ball feeders with cordless remote controls are also important to consider.

Good machine pitch dimple balls will save you a lot of money in the long and short run! Many pro, college, and his school programs use them. Don't discount their value to you.
Features - Pitch Speed & Pitch Variation
- Pitch Speed
- Single wheel machines will reach a maximum speed of around 60 MPH. Our BATA 1 and BATA 1 Curveball models will max out at 70 MPH.
Most all 2-wheel machines will reach the 90 MPH mark. Our BATA 2 will exceed a blistering 100 MPH.
- Pitch Variation
- Fastball pitching machines such as our BATA 1 model are very simple and reasonably lightweight machines with a simple on/off dial. This dial will also control the speed of the pitch between 20 & 70 MPH. (Coach JP's Note: Machine pitch leagues use speeds of around 38 MPH). It can be easily transported to and from the field in a car trunk. Set up time is 15 minutes.
The BATA 1 Curveball is one of my favorite picks. It is compact, lightweight, easy to set up and use and can throw curveballs as well as sliders, simulating both left and right-handed pitchers. This is of course in addition to a 70 MPH max fastball.
Both the BATA 1 and BATA 1 Curveball weight less than 60 pounds, transport and set up easily, and can even be used for fly ball practice. Just plug them in to any 110V outlet or use an external cord. All models carry a limited 5-year warranty.
