The Reptilian Series is a great idea in that it has a near fingerless design that creates a larger pocket area and really seems to absorb the occasional bone-bruising or cold weather sting you get when you don’t catch a ball cleanly.
The leather is good (but not priced to be of PRO) quality, the lacing is thick and strong. It is lightweight when compared to our PRO Series.
The big plus of the ProSoft Series is that it is great for players who just have no interest or the extra time it takes to break in a Pro Line glove or for someone who just needs an extra utility glove for a "second position." The price is a strong consideration for many as well.
The minus is that you cannot expect the longevity of a pro glove if you are regularly catching high velocity throws or hits. This is why I recommend it for younger and for older adult players where velocity is not the primary component of the game.
The look intrigues many players, which is why the Reptilian Series is so popular. I would not recommend this glove if you prefer a traditional-looking model.
