This mitt, our Gary Carter model, has all the great qualities of our Pro Series Praying Mantis Mitt, our APM 42. The difference is that it is a bit smaller and lighter, and is designed for easier break in and built to fit a younger hand. This includes smaller finger stalls and our velcro closure grasp clasp wrist closure system.
It has a deep and wide pocket that is designed so that the throwing hand can get to the ball for quicker ball transfer.
The leather pocket and web are top quality US Steerhide, the lacing is thick, heavy and skillfully installed. The backside features Lyte Leather. This product decreases the weight of the glove yet allows for easier break-in and a more manageable feel.
Catchers mitts generally take a lot of time and work to break in. I believe it is a real plus having a glove that breaks easily, yet will still hold up once broken in. This is a well thought out glove, especially considering the price!
